Simple tenses                                            Progressive tenses

I work – present

I am working – present

I worked – past

Use the verb as it is in the dictionary.

For past tense you add –ed or you use the second form of the verb.

When you make a question or negative we use "do" for present and "did" for past.

In progressive tenses we use the verb "to be"

I am; we, you, they are; he, she it is. Present

I, he, she was; we, you, they were

Past

To make the structure of the progressive tense we need "to be" and "-ing" suffix at the end of the verb.
